At last TravelSafe Systems does not feel alone in calling for a global approach to develop a meaningful COVID-19 aviation containment plan. We support The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) in its latest announcement and would go further and seek to collaborate with WTTC, governments, airports, and tour operators to create a global standard for pre-departure testing that can support a sustained and safe recovery for the sector.
Our test, combined with a secure mobile application iWarrant, processes results within 40 minutes at point of use with no need to send samples to laboratories. This allows for at or near airport testing 24hrs before or on the day of departure. The mobile application can be integrated into airport departure processes and can be used to contact passengers should a positive COVID-19 result be found on their flight. The test itself is up to 10 times more sensitive than PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) – which is currently widely used – ensuring detection of the virus 24 hours after infection and before anyone is deemed infectious.
